Your average retired police officer doesn't have that much money in the bank, espescially if he leaves the force before retiring. Well neither did Jet when he left the force. So be bought the hammerhead, a fishing ship and made a few modifications. This type of ship is fairly common on Ganymede because most of the planet is covered by ocean. Its primary resource is its fishing industry
Since the Hammerhead is actually a converted fishing trauler. That's the reason why it has a large scoop in the front and a harpoon instead of guns. When Jet was converting it from a used fishing trauler to be used to capture bounties, he found that the harpoon was very useful in disabling and capturing enemy ships so he kept it.
The front mounted soop can be used to lift just about anything. That includes cars, knocking down buildings, etc... Jet also increased the armor of the Hammerhead to make up for its lack of speed and manuverability. The ship is also capable of making water landings and VTOL (Vertical Take Off and Landing). The Hammerhead is equipped for Atmospheric travel but cannot go into space.
