The Red Tail is Faye's personal craft. There's no news as to where she got it but its got a lot of features which aren't available to the general public. Most likely she stole it at one point or another. For instance its heavily armed even compared to Spike's Swordfish II. Although if you're going to be bounty hunting there's nothing that can compare to the best equipment.

THe Red Tail is not the fastest of ships but it has a great deal of mobility. Its capable of atmospheric flight as well as space flight. It is also capable of VTOL (Vertical Take Off and Landing) like a Harrier jet but it is capable of doing it with much more precision.

It also includes a remote auto pilot which can be activated by pressing a button in one of Faye's bracelets. And since Faye has so many enemies it also includes anti-missile countermeasures which are actually capable of sending missiles fired at it back to their origionaltor. The Red Tail is a MONO class vehicle which means that the vehicle consists of two parts, a pod and a shell. The pod contains the life support systems and the pilot and can be ejected if there is an emergency. The Shell is the actual vehicle part of the MONO which contains the weaponry, armor, and most of the electronics.
