So Now I'm stuck with the Dilemma, Do I want to get it for Playstation 3 aswell?, I mean with 360, I will be able to stack such an epic game to my achievement points, and there's some kind of Nostalgic value to switching discs again, lol however I've always played the final fantasy series on the playstation, and with PS3 I get to actually experience it in Blu-ray, with that extra option of having Eng Subs, should I ever the need to listen in Japanese, I probably will anyway I'm just asking for opinions, lol

The bottom dude (his name escapes me) Reminds me of an older Tidus, While the main girl Lightning, is obviously the Cloud Strife Character. This game is gonna be epic
Now I'm not a huge fan of pink but this is BA

Its kind of sad though that the other 2 final fantasy 13's arent gonna get as much attention, I mean they are going to do ok, but 13 is the only one being released on multiple platforms (instawin), its also the turn based one, While I think Versus will have a following, its going to have a cross between Kingdom hearts and Dirge of cerberus, and 3rd person shooter final fantasy never does as good as TB (FFXII anyone?) and then Agito is for PSP so yea

I am gonna get it for PS3, I just broke down and bought FFVII for PS3 (Had it on PS1 but my ps3 was giving me the Ryo Ohki stare), and I jumped on and grabbed it for PS3, Heyo for Blu-ray, but I'm still getting my achievements worth for 360

Final Fantasy day-one sales hit 1 million in Japan
* By Tom Magrino, GameSpot * Posted Dec 18, 2009 10:53 am PT
Square Enix's hotly anticipated JRPG busts platinum sales marker in 24 hours on PS3, franchise sales surpass 92 million.
It almost went without saying that Final Fantasy XIII would be a massive success in Japan. Any doubts to that were squelched in April, when Square Enix released a short demo for the game in Japan for the PlayStation 3--the only console that Final Fantasy XIII is available for in the region--and system sales nearly quadrupled on a weekly basis, according to Media Create.
FFXIII sales are officially fast as Lightning.
With Final Fantasy XIII officially available on retail shelves in Japan yesterday, the game's selling potential has snapped clearly into focus. Citing internal figures, Square Enix announced today that the Japanese role-playing game has sold more than 1 million units in its first 24 hours. Square Enix noted that the figure does not include units sold as part of hardware bundles, such as the 250GB ceramic-white PS3 with a graphic of protagonist Lightning printed on the top.
Yesterday, Square Enix announced that it had shipped some 1.8 million units to Japanese retailers in advance of the game's launch. The publisher also noted that total worldwide franchise sales stand at 92 million units since the Final Fantasy brand first emerged in 1987. Of its most recent iteration, Square Enix has forecast total sales of 6 million units worldwide.
Final Fantasy XIII will be released for the Xbox 360 and PS3 in North America and Europe on March 9.
Also, anyone that's interested. Here's a livestream of the game in action if you want to check out some gameplay footage as it unfolds.

i just heard that on the day this came out - on the 17th - a massive 1million copies were sold.
I never doubted it for a second, this has been the most hyped Final Fantasy ever (and trust me they hyped 8 and 9 pretty hardcore)
If it makes there predicted 6 million sales (I'm sure once it hits North America it will break at least 6 and a half), it will be the third highest selling final fantasy of all time, the first was 7 with 9.8 million units sold as of 2007, All I got to say is Wow this game must be beyond amazing, if it wasnt for the fact my japanese is lacking I would import it RIGHT NOW

Aaaah me too! I watched about fifteen minutes of a stream of some guy playing it and it looks wonderful. The combat looks so fluid, and the menus are done very well. I saw a lot of whining about towns or some BS on the Gamespot forums, but aside from that I see no major complaints. I think the game is going to knock the crap out of FFXII by miles. Hell, it hasn't even made it to North America yet and it's already at over a million on the first day! Essentially we have about three more months >_<, ugh must hang in there!
